Quality Matters.

Especially when it comes to clothing.

That is why every piece of clothing we receive goes through a multi-step QC inspection to ensure that what we offer, regardless of channel, is the best available on the market. While ensuring we save as much as possible from ever hitting the landfill.

Meeting the Grade

Our Process

We go beyond the traditional A & B Grading System.

Most used-clothing operations rely on a blunt grading system that labels inventory as simply “A” or “B,” leaving buyers to guess what that really means for quality. We take a very different approach. Every single item we receive is individually inspected and evaluated so its condition, resale potential, and best next use are clearly understood.

Roughly ten percent (5%) of what comes through our doors rises to a Premium standard and is selected for online resale. These pieces are stain-free, flaw-free, and from notable brands and are the items you see listed on our website.

Another approximately fifty percent (55%) qualifies as Grade A. These are solid, good-quality garments without major stains, rips, or flaws, but tend to be mid-tier mall brands (J. Crew, Loft, American Eagle, Banana Republic, Old Navy). These have their place in the resale industry, but we process so much inventory that we simply don’t have the time to bring these items to the market ourselves.  Instead, these pieces are offered at our pop-up events or sold wholesale to other businesses. They are perfect inventory for online auctions (Whatnot, Poshmark Live), and sellers who specialize in ‘bread and butter’ items on buy-it-now platforms (Ebay, Depop, Mercari, Poshmark), as well as brick and morter operators (thrift store owners who need extra inventory, flea market stall owners.

Most of our Grade A inventory has resale value between $8 and $30 per Item.

About thirty-five percent (35%) of incoming items fall into Grade B+. These are items that are Grade A, but from a box store brand (Walmart/Target), or Grade B with minor “spot” stains but are still in overall good wearable condition, so we route them to donation partners to support nonprofits in our community.

The remaining five percent (5%) is classified as Salvage, meaning the items are truly at the end of their usable life. We actively seek recycling options whenever possible, and only as a last resort do items go to the landfill. On average, that amounts to just around forty pounds per week, while the vast majority of apparel we handle is either resold, reused, or responsibly rehomed.

Our inventory is strategically sourced in bulk from a diverse network of suppliers, including premium estate sales, donation buy-backs, and liquidated consignment stock. We currently process over 1,500 pounds of inventory weekly, with a strategic roadmap to scale our operations to 8,000 pounds per week by the end of 2026.

While we do purchase inventory from the public, our model is focused on high-volume acquisitions rather than individual item buy-outs. We serve as a strategic alternative to large-scale donations by offering a flat per-pound rate for bulk collections of at least 300 lbs. To maintain our quality standards, we require that the inventory consists of a strong brand selection with a minimal percentage of flaws or stains. Please note that because we prioritize volume over individual item pricing, our rates are lower than those of traditional buy-sell-trade consignment stores, offering a streamlined solution for those looking to move significant stock quickly.

In alignment with industry standards for high-volume textile processing, our items are generally not laundered prior to sale. During our rigorous sorting process, the vast majority of inventory is inspected and moved directly to storage to maintain operational efficiency. However, we do make exceptions for premium pieces with minor, treatable surface stains; in these specific instances, we will pull and treat the items to ensure they meet our quality grades. As with most secondary market purchases, we recommend that customers launder their items upon receipt to suit their personal preferences.
